Parmigiano Reggiano “Halal”

Naturally matured for at least 12 months.

A Parmigiano Reggiano approved by the Muslim community and supplied with halal certification. In addition to complying with the regulations of Consorzio del Parmigiano Reggiano, the cheese making process includes a number of specific differences with regard to both the ingredients used – the rennet and salt are halal-certified – and certain stages in the ageing process, which is carried out separately from the other non-halal cheeses.

Receiving an official award at the 2017 Taste of London, in the World Cheese Award category, following a special launch as part of the official programme, the “Halal” Parmigiano Reggiano is a product certified by the Halal International Authority, which significantly expands the market for Parmigiano Reggiano beyond its traditional markets.
